bio
b. 1984 Montréal, Canada
Michelle Amor Lundqvist (she/they) is a queer Filipino/Swedish artist whose work explores presence, and connection. Raised in a working-class immigrant family in Winnipeg, Manitoba, Michelle's upbringing instilled a deep appreciation for the invisible energy fields that weave between us, and the stories embedded in everyday life.
Lundqvist’s primary practice is recognized for its subtle geometric lines, minimalist compositions, and luminous gradient color fields. These abstract pieces carry a quiet spiritual resonance, imbued with their intuitive practices. In response to the shifting, collective anxieties of our current times, Michelle has expanded their focus to include solidarity animal portraits and joyful pet commissions. Whether mapping the emotional depth of a color field or capturing the distinct personality of a beloved companion, their work centers on the shared threads that ground us.
Lundqvist studied painting in Brussels at ERG St-Luc and earned a BFA from Concordia University in Montreal, later followed by an MBA from California State University, Monterey Bay. Their work has been exhibited in Brussels, Philadelphia, and Montreal -including at Art Mûr - and is held in private collections such as Colart, T.D. Trust, and Loto-Québec.
Michelle Amor now lives and works in San Francisco, California.
